Frequently asked questions.

Why “Camellia”?

Nope, it’s not my name! When coming up with the name of the shop I knew I wanted it to mean something. Whenever I think of baking, I think of being a tiny human in my grandma’s kitchen in the English Countryside making scones with her, and looking out into her garden with her gorgeous blooming Camellia bush. Ever since then, I’ve always associated my memories of her with that flower. That time with her is so special to me and planted the seed for my love of baking.

Do you take reservations?

Yes we do! If you want to guarantee yourself a spot (especially on weekends) we encourage you to reserve. We do have a cap on how many reservations we can accept in order to accommodate walk-ins as well! If you’d like to make a reservation, please call us at the shop at (519) 725-4040 and we can pencil you in! We do not accept reservations via e-mail or IG DM as those are not monitored 24/7.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes we do! The best way to inquire about this is via our website contact form (above). Please note that Alisha requires at least 1 week’s notice for custom orders, and possibly more depending on the scope and time of year. Pricing depends on a lot of factors such as: what you’re looking to order, sizing, decoration scope, etc.

Why don’t you list what you bake on your website?

Because our baking selection is different every single day (however we do rotate through fan faves)! We bake everything fresh each day and selection depends on season, ingredient availability, and whatever floats our boat! We think it’s pretty exciting to have whatever the baker has been inspired to make that day. If you’re curious what baking is available, we try to post our selection on our IG stories, and you’re always welcome to call and ask!

Are you a gluten-free facility?

We are not a certified gluten-free facility since we also sell things that contain gluten. Each day we have at least 2 gluten-friendly baked goods available, and all our drinks/food items are (or can be made) gluten-friendly. We do our very best to prevent cross-contamination but stress that there is always a chance. Some of our cross-contamination prevention procedures include: baking gluten-friendly items first in the morning, sanitising between gluten-friendly and regular preparations, using different serving tongs, labelling baked items clearly, etc. If you have a serious gluten allergy or celiac disease, we urge you to make the best decision for you and your health!
